Overview: It was in 1975, in the vines of the Chteau de Villemajouat the heart of the Corbi??resthat G??rard Bertrand harvests its first grapes and discovers its passion for wine. He will perfect his apprenticeship during twelve years at the side of his father Georges Bertrand. We are now in the fourth generation of winegrowers, from Paule to Georges, then G??rard Bertrand and finally Emma & Mathias. Very attached to the values of performance and excellence learned on the rugby fields, G??rard Bertrand continues his quest: to reveal the best terroirs of his region and promote them throughout the world. It is in this spirit that he took over the family torch at Domaine de Villemajou after the accidental death of his father in 1987. Five years later, he created the G??rard Bertrand wine company in order to develop a range of wines from the South of France. The G??rard Bertrand Group is the spearhead of a viticulture committed to a better future led by its founder, the eponymous winemaker. With languedoc’s biodynamic reference vintages, we create great wines with all the nuances of their terroir. Known for his great talent as an assembler as well as for his audacity and creativity, he and his teams work to make wines from the south of France shine all over the world.
Tasting Notes: A pale coppery-pink color, this ros?? made from Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault opens with aromas of freshly pressed sweet pea and peony combined with notes of white cherry and watermelon rind. The palate is light and easy to enjoy, but with a ripe-fruit character that lends a satisfying impression. A touch of herbal spiciness and tangy pithy citrus provides length and interest through the close.
Pairing: Spring Pea Risotto, Pork Larb Lettuce Wraps
